Role

The Hen Harrier Project Ltd.  will have an active role across most WP and will collaborate with all teams involved. The main role of the company will be to provide technical support across the several WP in terms of data collection, data management and storage. Because the Hen Harrier Project Ltd. has been  successfully administering three ACRES CP-zones  – and previously, the The Hen Harrier Project  EIP – there is enough expertise in the company to collaborate on:

1. The development of the Wader Action Plans – A similar task has been completed by the team for three ACRES CP zones. Three staff members can contribute with GIS expertise and knowledge and general methodology.

2. Developing a customised CRM using Dynamics 365 that will incorporate the following functionalities:·

    • data storage of Names, Addresses and Contact details of participant; details of land parcels connected with individual participants;
    • management of Actions to be delivered on farms incl. targeting, applications, screening, authorisation of planned actions on farms.
    • Certification of delivery and authorisation of payment for actions on farms.
    • Calculation of funding requests and the production of supporting documentation required by DAFM to facilitate payments for delivered actions.

3. Developing a system for actions targeting and screening – all actions that are to be implemented in the WAZ should be defined and recommended to land managers based on the local objectives defined and should then be screened for Appropriate Assessment. A screening protocol and semi-automatic system (CRM) has already been implement by the company and can be easily adapted to the Breefding Wader EIP objectives;

4. Applying the best surveying methodologies and technology (drone imagery collection; remote sensing analyses; field apps for registering data) that ensure  that monitoring and conservation evidence are completed following the best practices.

5. Data analysis – with a customised CRM all staff and institutions involved will be able to readily access and inquire the data. This means that it will be possible to analyze participants’ behaviours through time (e.g. number of actions submitted), habitat quality changes, and other factors that impact the project success.

6. Training session and knowledge transfer on relevant software (Dynamics 365 CRM; QField) and methodologies used (field surveys for habitat quality monitoring etc.).

7. Communication strategies – one of the Hen Harrier Project Ltd. staff members will assist the Project Manager in the development of a communications plan. He will also assist with video editing, development of training materials and the production of material for social media use.

The Technical Support Unit (HHP) will advise the project manager with ACRES Local Action Plans in the ACRES Breifne, ACRES Leinster and ACRES Munster South Connacht Areas.
